How long does it take to get a hearing on a Social Security Disability claim?
It takes a long time from the time you request the hearing until you actually receive a hearing date; it can be as long as 18 months. When you request the hearing, at that juncture, you have already been in the system for at least six months. It can be up to two years before you receive any type of a hearing and then you have to wait even longer after that to obtain the favorable decision and the benefits from the Social Security Administration.
